The countdown to Project 2
All systems are communicating with no difficulty. The next project I recomend is the Backup Domains (David is very conserned about safty of data).

Tom was added to the NS Remote account and now has netscreen on his laptop.

Still waiting on Steve Smith to update email addresses.

Warehouse has printing problems from one machine and would like advice on new laser printer (B&W and prints on 11 x 17).

ALL SYSTEMS GO - Except Shreveport
This is an update on all AOS Systems all but a few local remote users are able to access AOS Downtown.

Connie and Linda are up at the warehouse.
(CORE and OMD)

Dale Castro has remote access to CORE.

Jackson has remote access to CORE.

OPEN Issues:
Tony in Shreveport still does not have access but all you need to do is remote in to his system and ping let it time out as this is how the netscreen software is started! Yes pings start the netscreen software. If you have any problems we will figure them out.

Look at my silly hat
Ok. Not much going on today. Got the keys from Bill, and I think that gives us all of 'em that we'll need. Wasn't able to get in touch with the CORE guy so I called the company he works for and left a message with my cell number. I hope he gets back to us soon.

I found some apps that'll prove to be pretty useful this weekend. You'll get more details tomorrow. Also, I've began making an Access database of all the IT stuff downtown so we can see everything at a glance with fun stuff like queries and reports. Might make our lives easier in the end. It will certainly make it easier for the next IT guy at the very least.

Open issues:
1) Still trying to contact CORE guy

Countdown to the big project.
I sat down with David today and his only consern was with the employees that access the network through the NetScreen software. I told him that we could just call each one of those users and walk them through the change of which ip address to use. Charlotte has changed computers and is now using one of the ones we set up. The only issue she had was she did not have shortcuts for CORE and OMD but no problems dealing with that. Bill also gave me the key to the office as well as the access card for the building which I took to the security office downstairs and they activated it indefinatly. Do we still need keys for the Baton Rouge offices and the warehouse?

Open issues:
1) Contact John Smith about CORE dependencies for this weekend
2) Contact Bill about keys for the warehouse and Baton Rouge offices.

Happy valentine's day

Today I got in touch with Steve Hall, the Unix guy. Changing the OMD server's address isn't complicated but he still recommends that we have in come in. Apparently there are other things beyond the IP address that would need to be messed with. He says he'll be available sometime over the weekend. We still need to contact John Smith, the CORE developer. I don't think he'll have anything particularly useful to tell us but I don't want to be making any assumptions about that kind of stuff.

I also installed the CAPStudio 2.7 update on Angele's computer. The update DVD has been returned to Carlie (carly?) and the portable drive is back in the server room/cubicle where I found it.

A detailed timeline of our planned weekend activites has been submitted to David. Rob: I'll email it to you.
